About me

Hey!! I'm Susanna, a 16-year-old rising senior in Montgomery County, Maryland. During the summer of 2014 I will be traveling to Hangzhou, China under a scholarship from the U.S. Department of State’s NSLI-Y program to study Mandarin in China for 6 weeks!

I am half Chinese; my dad moved to America from Taiwan when he was young. I learned a few Chinese words and phrases as a child and wanted to expand my vocab in high school, so I started taking Chinese class.

Now I can't wait to start my adventure in China this summer... although I must admit that I'm really nervous too. I'll record my trip on this blog (hopefully I have access to wifi) so that I can reflect on my experiences, let my family and friends know what I'm up to, and provide information on studying abroad and NSLI-Y!
